Microsoft brings Copilot to Teams Chat and Teams Phone

Microsoft Teams Phone Copilot

In March, Microsoft announced the new Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI copilot for your productivity needs. Microsoft 365 Copilot is available across Microsoft 365 apps including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. In Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot is available during meetings. It will help in performing common tasks such as creating meeting agendas based on chat history, identifying the right people for follow-ups, and scheduling the next check-in.

At Inspire 2023, Microsoft announced that Copilot is coming to Teams Phone and Teams Chat experiences.

Copilot in Teams Phone:

Teams Phone is the first popular UCaaS solution to add generative AI capabilities to phone calls. With Copilot in Teams Phone, you can get real-time summarization and insights on your phone calls. Copilot can even highlight key points, such as names, dates, numbers, and tasks using natural language queries.

Copilot in Teams Phone supports both VoIP and PSTN calls, and it is now available to customers who are part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot Early Access Program.

Copilot in Teams chat:

With Copilot in Teams chat, you can ask specific questions to help get caught up on the conversation so far, organize key points, and summarize required information. This experience is similar to the Copilot experience available during meetings.

With Copilot in Teams chat, you can ask questions to generate a summary of the chat conversation over a recent time period you specify (Copilot provides prompts for the past day, seven days, or 30 days), without having to scroll through long chat threads or ask for repeated updates.

Copilot is Teams Chat is now available to customers who are part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot Early Access Program.
