Microsoft finally brings support for 3D emojis in Windows 11

After a long delay, Microsoft is finally bringing support for 3D emojis in Windows 11. In the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25905 released to the Canary Channel, Microsoft has updated its color font format to COLRv1. With this new format, Windows can display richer emoji with a 3D appearance. Microsoft mentioned that this support is coming soon to some apps and browsers. These new emojis are modern and delightful and will bring the power of fun and play into your messages.

Last year, Microsoft announced that 1800+ redesigned 3D emojis are now available in Microsoft Teams.

Emoji are solidifying their role as integral communication tools in our online spaces, and you’ll be able to use the new 3D emojis in Windows 11 starting with this new Insider build.
