During Build 2023, Microsoft announced Edge for Business, a new version of Edge that offers dedicated work experience with its own visual elements, like an updated icon, the organization’s name, and others. Until now, Microsoft Edge for Business was under private preview. Microsoft has now announced that Edge for Business is now available in preview of enterprises around the world.
Microsoft Edge for Business will serve the needs of both end users and IT Pros as the browser can automatically separate work and personal browsing into dedicated browser windows with their own favorites, separate caches and storage locations.
Edge for Business offers following experiences:
Name | Description |
---|---|
Visually distinct work browser | Natively built-in rich enterprise controls for secure data access and leak prevention powered by Azure AD with refreshed visual treatment. |
Enterprise personal browser | A lightly managed personal browser (MSA Profile) that lets you access your favorite non-work sites and services without compromising safety for the enterprise. |
Automatic switching | Automatically separates work and personal browsing into dedicated browser windows with their own separate caches and storage locations, so information stays separate. |
Company branding | Increase familiarity and trust with company branding in the work browser window. |
Unmanaged BYOPC | Secure and compliant access to work resources on personal computers with DLP controls. |
Microsoft Edge for Business is planned to be the standard browser experience for organizations, activated by an Azure Active Directory (AAD) login
Microsoft Edge for Business will be available on both managed and unmanaged Windows 11 devices.
