Instagram Threads had 10 million sign ups in just 7 hours

Yesterday, Instagram launched Threads, a new text-based social media platform to take on Twitter.  Threads is a standalone app similar to Twitter that lets you quickly and easily share text messages and join public conversations. To get started, you can use your Instagram account to login, and you can follow all the people you already follow on Instagram in one tap. Your Instagram username and verification will carry over to Threads.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has been providing updates on no.of sign-ups for Threads since last night. After 7 hours of launch, Threads already had 10 million signups. With over 70 million daily active users on Instagram, there is a high chance that Threads will have much more sign-ups in the coming days.
