Yesterday, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri revealed on his Instagram broadcast channel that Instagram users can now download public reels to their mobile devices. This will allow users to share Instagram Reels content on other platforms. Of course, Instagram will add its watermark to the downloaded videos.
Instagram’s rival TikTok had this feature for years. In fact, this feature was one of the main reasons behind virality of TikTok videos. Even today, you will be able to find several popular TikTok videos on Facebook.
The new download option will be available when you tap on the share icon and then select the new Download button.
Content creators can also restrict users from downloading their Reels.
