Microsoft Windows 11 Widgets

Microsoft today announced several new features coming to Windows 11 in the coming months. These features are targeted towards enterprise users who use Windows 11 on their main work PC. Read about the new features below.

New Privacy Setting:

A new app privacy setting will give users the ability to allow or block access to presence sensor information and easily enable and disable presence sensing features like wake on approach/lock on leave.

VPN Status on taskbar:

With glanceable VPN on your taskbar, users can easily find the VPN connection status with just a glance. If the device is connected to a recognized VPN, a small shield icon will appear over the active network connection on the taskbar. This Glanceable VPN feature will be available tomorrow, and customers can turn this on or off via Quick Settings.

Expanded Microsoft Pluton availability:

Pluton will now be available on even more AMD systems, including the Phoenix line.

Account Badging:

With account badging, users will be notified on the Start menu when the account needs attention.

New Languages in Live Caption:

Live Captions is expanding to 10 additional languages spanning 21 regions. Find the list of new languages below:

Chinese (Simplified, China), Chinese (Traditional, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan), Danish, English (Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States), French (Canada, France), German (Germany), Italian (Italy), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal), Spanish (Mexico, Spain)

Bluetooth Low Energy Audio support:

Windows 11 now supports Bluetooth Low Energy Audio to deliver high-quality audio at low power. Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro when connected to Windows 11 PC now supports this new standard and this feature will be expanded to more devices in the future.

Improved Widgets experience:

The default pane view will now feature a larger layout with dedicated space for user-pinned apps and a personalized feed designed for discovery.

Windows 365 Boot:

Windows 365 Boot allows users to log directly into their Windows 365 Cloud PC and designate it as the primary Windows experience on the device.

Isolation capabilities for Win32 apps:

Windows 11 users will soon have the ability to isolate Win32 applications. This feature will be available for both consumer and commercial audiences. This update will help improve the overall security of the Windows 11 system.
