The Microsoft Store continues to demonstrate its dedication to improving the developer experience and broadening user choices with the announcement of new capabilities for Progressive Web Applications (PWAs) and Win32 apps.
For PWAs, Microsoft is offering new capabilities to expand audiences through Windows Widgets and Edge Sidebar PWAs. They are also launching the Digital Goods API, which will streamline the in-app purchase process for PWAs published on the Microsoft Store.
Win32 app developers aren’t left out either. Microsoft has introduced a suite of certification tests that can be run offline, providing guidance to address potential certification issues. This development is expected to reduce the certification turnaround time by up to 50%, making the process faster and more efficient for developers.
The Store has also opened Android app submissions to all developers, further highlighting its dedication to supporting a variety of app formats and making the Microsoft Store a hub for all types of applications.
