Google Pixel Fold

As expected, Google today officially announced the new Pixel Fold foldable smartphone at Google I/O.

The Pixel Fold foldable smartphone comes with a flexible main display and a regular cover display. Yes, this device looks like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, but the aspect ratio of the display is different. While the Galaxy Z Fold series is narrow and more pocketable, the Pixel Fold has more width, hence offers better cover display experience.

Google claims that the Pixel Fold comes with the most durable hinge on a foldable smartphone. The flexible main display size measures 7.6-inch and the outer cover display measures 5.8-inch. The Pixel Fold weighs 10oz, thanks to its high-capacity battery. Google claims that Pixel Fold will last for 24 hours, or up to 72 hours in a low power mode. Like other Google Pixel devices, the Pixel Fold is powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip. Finally, Google Pixel Fold has IPX8 rating for water resistance.

Pixel Fold has many of the camera experiences you’ve come to expect from a Pixel — from Super Res Zoom with 5x optical zoom, Real Tone, Night Sight and Portrait photography along with pro-level modes from Pixel 7 Pro, such as 10-bit HDR video.

Pixel Fold will be available in two colors, Porcelain and Obsidian. And it will start at $1700 and you can pre-order it today. When you pre-order the device in the U.S. you will get a Google Pixel Watch for free.
