Last week, Microsoft revealed that Microsoft Teams now has over 300 million monthly active users. Microsoft Teams is being used for variety of use cases outside of the traditional enterprise communication space. People are using it for educational classes, webinars, appointments and more. To better support such users, Microsoft today announced the new Payments app that will make it easier for users to manage and collect payments from within Teams on your desktop or mobile device during a meeting.
This new Payments app is available in public preview in the Teams Store for Teams Essentials and Microsoft 365 business subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Microsoft has partnered with some of the largest players in the payments industry to enable this new Payments feature. Some of the partners include GoDaddy, PayPal, and Stripe. Stripe and PayPal are both available today within the app. GoDaddy integration is coming soon.
Here’s how the Microsoft Teams Payments work:
- Once the Payments app is configured and you’ve established a connection to your GoDaddy Payments, PayPal, and Stripe account(s), you can send a payment request to your customers during a meeting in just a few clicks. In turn, your customers can remit payment to you using their credit or debit card, digital wallet, and more.
- An at-a-glance view of payments you have received, and those still outstanding, helps you manage payments from customers.
