AMD Ryzen Z1 Sony Handled Q-Lite

AMD today announced the new Ryzen Z1 Series processors for handheld PC gaming consoles. There are two processors in the Ryzen Z1 Series: the Ryzen Z1 and Ryzen Z1 Extreme. Both these processors feature AMD RDNA 3 architecture-based graphics to offer great gaming experience.

The Ryzen Z1 Series processors feature up to 8 cores and 16 threads. Thanks to “Zen 4” architecture, they will offer good battery life. AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition features include AMD Radeon Super Resolution, Radeon Chill, Radeon Image Sharpening, AMD Link and more. These features can boost performance with increased frame rates and responsiveness. These processors support USB4, LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X memory standards for impressive performance.

Ryzen Z1 Series processor-based devices are built on x86 architecture, so they can run full Windows 11. AMD Ryzen Z1 processors will be available first in the Asus ROG Ally followed by other devices.

Recently, we reported about a new PlayStation handheld console that is currently in development. Codenamed the Q Lite, this next-generation device is designed to work in conjunction with the PlayStation 5, further expanding Sony’s gaming ecosystem.

The Q Lite is not a cloud-streaming device, but rather utilizes Remote Play with the PlayStation 5 – a feature that Sony has been actively promoting in recent weeks. The handheld console will support adaptive streaming up to 1080p and 60FPS, requiring constant internet connectivity for optimal performance.

Early prototype images reveal that the console bears a striking resemblance to the PlayStation 5 controller, featuring a massive 8-inch LCD touchscreen in the center. The Q Lite is also equipped with adaptive triggers for haptic feedback, volume buttons, speakers, and an audio input jack – all the essential elements of a modern handheld gaming console.

According to rumors, this upcoming Q Lite handheld console may feature the new AMD Ryzen Z1 processor for impressive performance and battery life. Sony is already familiar with AMD processors. The Sony PlayStation 5 features a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom GPU based on AMD’s RDNA 2 architecture. So, there is a high probability that Sony’s upcoming Q Lite handled may feature AMD Ryzen Z1 processor series.
