Microsoft today announced the release of Windows 11 Preview Build 23440 to Dev Channel Insiders. This new Windows 11 build comes with some key changes.

First, Microsoft now allows you to hide the time and date in the system tray. You can go to “Adjust date and time” and enable this feature.

Second, when you right-click the network icon in the system tray, you now have the option to diagnose network problems.

Third, Microsoft is experimenting with a new hover behavior for the search box and search highlight gleam. Microsoft will now display the search flyout when you hover over the search box gleam. You can change this behavior in “Taskbar settings”.

Fourth, there is a new icon that shows on the desktop for Windows Spotlight.

Fifth, Microsoft is exploring a recommendation in the Start menu to quickly access the release notes for Windows Insider Preview builds. Clicking the link will open the corresponding Insider blog post.
