Microsoft Teams

Microsoft recently revealed that spatial audio support is coming soon to Microsoft Teams. With Spatial Audio, you can make the meeting experience more natural, inclusive and focused for everyone.

Next-generation spatialized audio in Teams will allow you to meet like you’re there together.

Spatial Audio support in Microsoft Teams is coming in May 2023 on Teams desktop clients.

Here’s how you can enable Spatial Audio in Microsoft Teams:

Before meeting:

  1. Select Settings and more … > Devices.
  2. In the Audio devices section, under Speaker, select your compatible device.
  3. Turn on the toggle next to Spatial audio.

In the meeting:

  1. Go to your Teams calendar and select the meeting you’d like to join.
  2. Before you join, select Device settings.
  3. Under Speaker, select your compatible device.
  4. Turn on the toggle next to Spatial audio.

To preserve audio quality, Microsoft Teams will disable spatial audio if network bandwidth or device RAM is low.
