Latest Windows 11 Insider build brings support for live captions in more languages

Microsoft Windows 11 Live Captions

Today, Microsoft announced the release of Windows 11 Preview Build 25300 to the Dev Channel Insiders. This new build expands support for live captions to more languages, improvements to snap layouts and more.

With the Windows 11 2022 Update, Microsoft first added support for Live captions in English (United States). With this new Insider build, live captions are now supported in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and other English dialects.

Here’s how you can enable Live Captions in Windows 11:

To get started, live captions can be turned on with the WIN + Ctrl + L keyboard shortcut, or from the quick settings accessibility flyout via Quick Settings.

Microsoft is also testing different improvements to snap layouts. Microsoft wants to improve discoverability and usage of the snap layouts such as decreasing the hover time required to invoke the flyout when you mouse over the maximum/restore button in an app’s title bar. They are also testing some other small tweaks with snap layouts.

This build also includes several bug fixes and improvements. Find the full change log from the source link below.
