Last year, Microsoft announced Teams Premium, a new Teams plan that will offer several new AI-powered features including Intelligent recap, live translations for captions, meeting guides, AI-generated tasks, advanced webinars features and more. Microsoft Teams Premium is now available in preview for commercial customers as a limited trial.
When Microsoft Teams Premium becomes generally available in the coming months, some of the current Teams features including Live translated captions will move to Teams Premium plan.
According to Microsoft’s official documentation, the following features are moving to Teams Premium:
- Live translated captions.
- Timeline markers in Teams meeting recordings for when a user left or joined meetings.
- Custom organization Together mode scenes.
- Virtual Appointments: SMS notifications.
- Virtual Appointments: Organizational analytics in the Teams admin center.
- Virtual Appointments: Scheduled queue view.
When Teams Premium becomes generally available to purchase, there will be a 30-day grace period for Teams regular plan customers to purchase Teams Premium. After the 30-day grace period, customers will lose access to features previously available in Teams without the Teams Premium add-on.
