Microsoft is adding a very useful feature to the Task Manager in Windows 11.

The latest Windows 11 Insider Builds (25231) adds a search bar to the task manager.

The feature would let users search for a process by Name, application publisher or PID (Process ID).

This should make it easier to pin down an errant app, particularly because the list can get very long and change rapidly at times.

The feature is hidden at the minute but can be enabled using tools such as Vive Tool.

The feature is still in its early stage of implementation and currently requires one to search using the exact process name e.g explorer.exe for Windows Explorer.  The other search criteria, such as PID, are also not working yet.

Of course features in the Insider builds are just for testing, and may never come to end users. Hopefully, such a useful feature will not end up on the cutting floor.
