Google today announced that Chrome’s official support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will end in 2023. Google is doing this to match Microsoft’s end of support for Windows 7 ESU and Windows 8.1 extended support on January 10th, 2023. Chrome users should update their device to Windows 10 or later to continue receiving future Chrome releases.

With the release of Chrome 110, which is scheduled for February 7th, 2023, Google Chrome end support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. After this date, the Chrome browser installed on these operating systems will continue to work but will not receive any new updates.

If you are currently on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, Google encourages you to move to a supported Windows version before that date to ensure you continue to receive the latest security updates and Chrome features.
