Google Android 13 Go Edition

Google released Android (Go edition) to power affordable phones with limited memory and storage. There are around 250 million active Android (Go edition) users around the world. Today, Google announced Android 13 (Go Edition) that offers improved reliability, usability, and customization.

First, Google is bringing Google Play System Updates to Go devices. This will enable Go devices to regularly receive important software updates, outside of the major Android release. So, users don’t have to wait for the next release or a software update from device OEM.

Second, the new Discover feature will allow you to swipe right from your home screen to see a curated list of articles and other content.

Third, Google is bringing Material You to Android Go for the first time. This will allow Android Go users to customize their phone’s color scheme to coordinate with their wallpaper. When they change the phone wallpaper, they will see four corresponding color schemes to choose from.

Along with the above, some of key Android 13 features like Notification Permissions, App Language Preferences and more are also available for Android Go devices. New devices with Android 13 (Go edition) will be available in 2023.
