Microsoft today announced the Surface Laptop 5 with 12th Gen Intel Core processors for improved performance. As expected, Surface Laptop 5 comes in two variants:
- 5” PixelSense touchscreen with 2256 x 1504 (201 PPI) resolution and Dolby Vision IQ support.
- 15” PixelSense touchscreen with 2496 x 1664 (201 PPI) resolution and Dolby Vision IQ support.
Thanks to Thunderbolt 4 support on both the variants, you can use a single port for high-speed data transfer, charging and to project to an external monitor. The following CPU options are available for customers to configure their Surface Laptop 5:

All the above SKUs are built on the Intel Evo platform. And customers can configure the above variants with 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB LPDDR5x RAM options, 56GB, 512GB, or 1TB SSD options.
The dual far-field Studio Mics and Omnisonic Speakers with Dolby Atmos deliver great audio experience on these laptops.
Surface Laptop 5 13.5” will be available in the new Sage color in addition to Platinum with Alcantara, Matte Black, and Sandstone. The 15-inch variant will be available in Platinum and Matte Black colors.
Microsoft claims 18 hours battery life on Surface Laptop 5 13.5” and 17 hours of battery life on Surface Laptop 5 15”.
