Lenovo today announced the next-generation ThinkPad X1 Fold device with improved design and performance. The new ThinkPad X1 Fold features a 22% larger 16-inch folding OLED display, 25% thinner chassis, and thinner bezels all around. Also, the back cover is now made from 100% recycled woven performance fabric. Also, the optional full-size backlit ThinkPad keyboard now features TrackPoint and large haptic touchpad.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold will be powered up to 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processors, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, SSD storage up to 1TB and memory options up to 32GB LPDDR5.
The 600nits HDR brightness folding OLED panel is 16.3 inches with a 4:3 aspect ratio offering maximum space with the versatility to be oriented in portrait or landscape modes when unfolded. It also supports optional magnetic-attach pen utilizing Wacom protocol.
A new display interface was developed, which folds the non-active area enhancing durability and enabling thinner bezels.
This foldable device comes with three USB Type C ports, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports. There are three Dolby Atmos speakers installed where two are always active preserving stereo sound. There are twin dual microphone arrays and Dolby Voice optimizing microphone and speaker performance leveraging spatial audio technology for great meeting experiences.
