Google has announced a coming update to their search engine algorithm designed to make it easier to find original content.

Google will start penalizing content that seems to have been primarily created for ranking well in search engines rather than to help or inform people. The change is aimed to make sure that unoriginal, low-quality content doesn’t rank highly in Search. Google says results related to online education, as well as arts and entertainment, shopping and tech-related content, will particularly benefit.

Similarly, Google also announced an update to make it even easier to find high-quality, original reviews.

Both updates will be rolling out next week for English-speaking users. Web developers can read more about the coming changes here.
