The Dell Mobile Connect app created a sensation when it was first released, allowing users to easily access their phone features from their PC.

The feature-rich app was unmatched for some years, but eventually, Microsoft’s imitator, the Your Phone app, overtook it in terms of features and functionality and of course, came built into Windows 11.

Today Dell announced that it will be discontinuing the Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect service, with the app no longer being available to download from as soon as the 31st July 2022.

Dell notes:

The Dell Mobile Connect and Alienware Mobile Connect software are being discontinued and will no longer be available for download. Reference the table below for key regional dates. Current users can continue to enjoy the benefits of the software until the regional discontinue date.

Dell Mobile Connect is software available on all Bluetooth-enabled Inspiron, Vostro, G-Series, Alienware, and Consumer XPS devices with Windows 10 or above. This software requires the Dell Mobile Connect or Alienware Mobile Connect companion app to create a wireless PC-Smartphone integration. With the app, Dell users can remotely interact with their mobile phone from their computer to reply to SMS messages, make and receive phone calls, and more.

Dell recommends uninstalling Dell Mobile Connect or Alienware Mobile Connect from both your Dell computer and mobile devices by the regional discontinue date. This frees up storage space and ensures an optimum device experience.

Dell notes that alternatives to their app are available but do not specifically call out the Microsoft Your Phone app.
