At Microsoft Inspire 2022, Microsoft announced Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty, a new solution designed specifically for the government sector. This new cloud solution from Microsoft will help public sector organizations to digitally transform workloads in the Microsoft Cloud without compromising on compliance, security, and policy requirements.
While public sector customers can already use Microsoft Cloud for their requirements, Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty will have greater control over their data and increased transparency to the operational and governance processes of the cloud.
As part of Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty, Microsoft will also offer additional layers to protect and encrypt sensitive data. Also, it will include a Sovereign Landing Zone, a solution to simplify the architecture, deployment workflow and offer intelligent tools to orchestrate operations of various security services and policy controls.
Microsoft is starting the initial private preview of Microsoft Cloud for Sovereignty in select locations.
