iPhones and iPads have long come with Apple’s own iWorks office suite, which includes their Pages word processor.

Apple calls Pages “the most beautiful word processor you’ve ever seen on a mobile device”, but for real power, many people turned to Microsoft’s Word for iOS.

Apple has however continued to add new features and functionality over the years, with the app now able to create gorgeous reports, digital books, resumes, posters and easily add images, movies, audio, tables, charts, and shapes. You can also draw and annotate using Apple Pencil or annotate using your finger.

In the latest update, which takes the app to version 12.1, Apple has added the ability to use mail merge to quickly create personalized letters, cards, and envelopes for multiple recipients.

The update also brings:

  • Select from stylish new templates for event invitations and student certificates
  • Export your Pages documents as TXT files
