At Google I/O, Google today announced a new feature called virtual cards on Chrome and Android which will allow you to keep your payment information safe while using online during your payments.
When you use autofill to enter your payment details at checkout, this new virtual card feature will replace your actual card number with a distinct, virtual number.
This also eliminates the need to manually enter card details like the CVV at checkout.
You can manage the virtual cards at pay.google.com. You can enable virtual cards feature for eligible cards, view your virtual card number, and see recent virtual card transactions.
Google has plans to launch Virtual cards in the US for Visa, American Express, Mastercard and all Capital One cards starting this summer.
