AMD today announced the availability of commercial laptops based on the new Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors. The Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors based on 6nm “Zen 3+” cores and AMD RDNA 2 graphics deliver better performance and battery life when compared to competing Intel 12th gen processors. AMD today shared some numbers highlighting the performance and battery life of Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors.

  • Up to 17% faster performance than Intel 12th gen when using MS Office apps such as PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook while simultaneously running Microsoft Teams conferencing.
  • Up to 45% longer battery life for Microsoft Teams conferencing compared to the competition.

45% longer battery life during Teams calls is an impressive number. AMD came up with this number when using a nine participant Microsoft Teams video conference with camera on, 200 nit brightness, Balanced mode, with 95% utilization.

Apart from performance and efficiency gains, the new Ryzen 6000 Series processors also support DDR5 RAM, Wi-Fi 6E, USB 4 and Thunderbolt for great connectivity.

In addition to the latest HP EliteBooks and Lenovo ThinkPads, you will find several Windows PCs powered by AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors in 2022 in the coming months.
