At the Future of Hybrid Work event, Microsoft announced yesterday the improved File Explorer experience coming to Windows 11 users.
First, Microsoft has made it official that tabs are coming to Windows File Explorer. Recently, Microsoft started testing this feature with Windows Insiders. With tabs, you can multitask and find multiple files at the same time.
Second, you will be able to pin individual files for quick access. To add a file to Quick Access, you can just Right click a file and select ‘Add to Favorites’.
Third, your file activities in Microsoft 365 will be displayed on the File Explorer home page.
Finally, the new File Explorer will offer new contextual suggestions in Windows powered by Context IQ. This recommends relevant content and contacts across Windows—including content to the cloud.
