With Windows 11, Microsoft made it difficult for users to change their default web browser. Instead of a simple single click way, Microsoft forced users to select the default web browser for different web file types. This move was criticized by some consumers and competing web browser vendors including Mozilla Firefox.
Based on the feedback from various customers and other browser vendors, Microsoft is now making it easier for consumers to change their default web browser in Windows 11.
Starting with Windows 11 Build 22000.593, consumers can navigate to Settings -> Apps -> Default apps and select their web browser of choice and make it their default web browser in a single click. You can check out the screenshot of this new experience in the image above.
