In the latest Microsoft Edge Canary build version 100.0.1169.0, Microsoft has started testing the new Skype Meet Now feature. Through this new integration, you can create a free video call with one click.

Meet Now allows you to easily set up a collaboration space and invite both Skype contacts and friends or family who are not on Skype. Participants can then easily join meetings whether they have an account or not.

You can access this feature in Microsoft Edge in the following two ways:

  • Settings -> More Tools -> Meet Now
  • Meet Now button in the toolbar. You can enable this button from Settings -> Settings -> Appearance.

When you click the Meet Now button, the Skype Meet Now experience will be displayed in sidebar as you can see in the image above. After entering the meeting name, you can create a link and share it with people you want to join the call. Even though this meeting experience is based on Skype, no sign-ups and Skype downloads are required. You can enjoy the video call on your browser (Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome).

Another neat feature is that your personal invitation links have no expiration date, so you can create your invite in advance and can be used anytime.
