Last year, Microsoft announced that it will release a major update for Windows OS once a year. In addition to the annual update, Microsoft releases minor updates throughout the year with bug fixes and some new features. Yesterday, Microsoft confirmed that it will release new features into Windows 11 more frequently.

Microsoft will deliver these minor feature updates using the existing servicing and Microsoft Store updates. Microsoft’s plan is to deliver new improvements year-round.

While announcing the first major update for Windows 11 in 2022, Microsoft mentioned the following regarding Windows 11:

Microsoft will continue to listen to customer feedback and bring new experiences to life on Windows 11.

Microsoft will leverage Windows Insiders to incubate innovative ideas and try out different concepts with its features and services.

Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, Windows + Devices, said the following:

Looking forward, we will continue to focus on empowering people and organizations to navigate hybrid work and life, make Windows the best open platform for the world’s innovation, invest in Windows as a force in more inclusive and equitable experiences, continue to focus on security, make Windows the best place for gaming and a gateway to the metaverse, and support broader company efforts around sustainability.
